Reading IMAP mail

I have no problem reading my imap mail remotel;y, but when I click on a message to view in in preview pane it "downloads" the message and all the attachments (annoying if the attachments are large and I only want to read the message).

How do I control whether outlook downloads the message or not. I just want to read the message and worry about the attachment later.

Outlook does not support getting only the message body and not the
attachment. Sorry...
