Reading pane on Outlook 2003

I am unable to view the Reading Pane in Outlook 2003.

I have tried th /safe switch and also tried to remane the views.dat file
with no help.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Start it directly by using OUTLOOK.EXE instead of a shortcut.

If it still doesn't display it reset the view;
View-> Arrange By-> Custom...-> button Reset Current View
