really slow typing

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

I have trouble with really slow typing. I enter text, but what goes on the screen happens several seconds later (up to 5 or 10). I have no other troubles. I've eliminated all the autocorrect and filtering things I can find in preferences, and eliminated all links to any other files. It happens on all file sizes, including new files, on the first text entry.

Just fixed one today by trashing the: Users - you - Library - Preferences - com.microsoft.Excel.plist
