I correctly upgraded from 3.1 to G2007 and got the dreaded "Upgrade Your
Groove Account -- Reboot Required" message. I have done everything suggested
in the various posts on this topic in this forum, but to no avail. If I
restore G3, everything is fine, but no matter what I do in the way of
uninstalling, cleaning up the Registry, deleting G3 folders, etc., as soon as
I try to run G2007, up pops the message.
I have figured out that it is part of GrooveMigrator.exe, but if I rename
that program or substitute something else and give it that name, the
substitute program launches OK when I double click groove.exe, but then
Groove exits. Evidently GrooveMigrator is trying to do something, not
succeeding, and then Groove decides it can't go ahead.
I have now spent an entire day on this and am getting nowhere. I am
installing G2007 from an Office DVD, and am only installing Groove. The rest
of Office 2007 is scheduled for later. The operating system is XP SP2.
Any ideas anybody?
