Recurring Tasks frequency

Hi all:

I am trying to set the frequency of a recurring task with Project 2000.
I cannot find a way to specify anything less than daily (once every
day). Since my task has a fixed duration of 2 hrs, I would like to see 4
instances of the recussing task taking place within one working day. Is
this possible on the Project-2000 interface?

TIA,
Nikolas

Nikolas,
Hey, anything's possible, right? Try this.
1. First set up a group of 2 hour recurring tasks (i.e. enter "2h" for
the Duration) and cover whatever span of time is appropriate
2. Then set up a second group of recurring tasks for 2 hours
3. Do the same for a 3rd and 4th group of 2 hour recurring tasks
4. Finally there are two ways to spread the four groups across each day.
Either link them or set the Start time. For example, let's say the first
2 hour task under the first group is task ID 2. For linked tasks, set
the Predecessor for the first 2 hour task under the second group to be
ID 2. Do likewise with the first 2 hour tasks under the third and fourth
groups. If linking is not appropriate, then set the time for the start
of tasks in group 2 to be 10:00 AM, group 3 to be 1:00 PM and group 4 to
be 3:00 PM. To make this easier you can set the time of the first task
in each group and then use "fill down" for the rest of the tasks in that
group.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all(John and Jack so far ) for the helpful replies. Please
allow me to rephrase the original question:

If I want to define a recurring task with duration T hrs (where T <= 2
hrs), can I schedule 4 instances of the task within the same working
day, without resorting to (a) either a macro, or, (b) multiple task
definitions linked to each other?

TIA,
Nikolas

Nikolas,
Well, the simple answer is yes - lay in the tasks individually. But, I
don't think that's the answer you are looking for.

One of my suggestions was for a non-linked version. That meets your
request of "not (a) or (b)". Other than that however, I don't have any
further suggestions. Sometimes you just have to go with what is
available.
