Recursivly Setting Permissions?

Is there any way to recursivly set the permissions for folders in a
workspace? I really dont want to set each folder indivdually as I have
hundreds of folders in some places.

Thanks,

The short answer is "no" the permissions are limited to the Tool - so the
"Files Tool" has one set of permissions. Everyone in the space can Read
every tool but not Edit. So you could create a number of Files Tools which
had different permissions but everyone would be able to read them

That is fine if the permissions are limited to the tool, but if i create a
new tool (a sharepoint share tool for exmaple) and change the tool to have
different permissions than default (ie, change it so participants can delete
all files, not just theirs), any new folder you add under that, does not get
the parents permissions. On top of that there is no way to change this
default behaviour.

Is there any way around this?

Another quick question. Although I would still like to hear back from someone
at Microsoft, I am pretty sure there is no way to do this unless (change the
default tool permissions for guest/participant/manager, or update permissions
recursivly) unless I have missed something. I thought i would just write my
own little tool that would recursivly go through each and every folder and
change the permissions. I can easily enough run through all of the folders,
but I can't find anything in the API to allow me to change the permissions of
a folder? Is there any way to do this though the Groove API? I really need to
get this done in one way or another and do not look forward to the prospect
of having to do this on a folder by folder basis (let alone having to do it
everytime someone adds a new folder!

Unfortunately, the current Web Services API do not provide any mean to
read or modify permissions.
This feature would be really helpful and appreciated.
Hope it will be added in the next release....
