Recycle Bin

I am having trouble deleting items. When i delte a file from Word, Excel etc
they are automatically permanently deleted and they do not bypass the recycle
bin. How can i set up recycle bin so that all items deleted from Word etc
are stored in recycle bin until they can be removed?

Right-click the Recycle Bin, properties, Global tab, clear "Do not move files to the
Recycle Bin..."

I'm wondering if the docs in question are stored on a network drive, or
locally. Docs deleted from the network do not hit the Recycle Bin (but, in an
ideal environment, can be retrieved from a regular server backup).

Hope this (and the other response) helps, NicVic!

Yes, my computer is networked (it is the child computer) i have checked the
recycle bin on parent machine and the items which have been deleted from the
child machine do not appear to be in the parent recycle bin!! :)
