Reflecting both Fixed Fee and Time and Material Tasks in One Proje

We are using MS Project 2007 Enterprise. We have hybrid projects with have
both fixed fee and Time and Material tasks. What is the best way to have
this reflected in the project? We use the Remaining Work column for
forecasting purposes.

Catheleen,
The Fixed Cost field is intended for tasks that have fixed cost, such as
a task that is being done by a subcontractor for a negotiated contract
price. Time and material tasks should use appropriate work estimates and
labor rates or material usage rates.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response John.

Unfortunately this does not really help. Yes I use fixed costs, no problem
there. Where it gets tricky is being able to filter on fixed fee tasks vs
t&M tasks. Would you suggest creating a custom field to denote this? What I
want to do is filter for T&M tasks and look at remaining work for forecast
purposes.

Catheleen,
If you are using the Fixed Cost field for fixed fee tasks then it should
be a simple matter of filtering on tasks that have "0" in the Fixed Cost
field to get the time and material tasks.
