Is it possible to hide web content from one region of the country?
ie:

I'd like to promote one item in Chicago while not allowing visitors from
Tennessee to see it.

Yes to a degree (wouldn't apply to AOL users), but it will require custom server-side scripting and
server add-ons, etc. to accomplish

About the only thing you could do is to use a form to ask
the client their location, and some scripting to redirect
them based on their response. An automatic method would not
be reliable, as all you could do is look up the client IP,
but that IP may be 1000s of miles from where they actually
are
