Reinstall can't be done becuase Office installed too often

I have an eMachine with XP and Office 2003. A problem with the machine
forced me to use the Recovery disk that came with the PC. The XP wouldn't
work because I had installed SP2 and now the original XP files were mixed in
with the SP2 files, ergo the OS was now a mish mash. Tech support said run
the recovery again using a different option which creates a folder with the
original system, data, and settings and then sets up XP without mingling
with with the "out of the box" XP. When I installed Office again, I got a
message which says I've installed Office too many times. Couldn't find any
way to get in touch with Microsoft support to find out what to do which
brings me her.

How do I get Office running on my PC again?

You should still have the activate by telephone option available. Next time
you open an Office program, use that method.
