Reinstalling FP?

I was having major problems with Front page as well as other Microsoft
programs.
I re installed Windows XP.
I also uninstalled Front page, now it will not let me re-install it.
The major error message is cab files missing.
I have tried to move the missing files over from my back up computer, but
they will not stay.
Each time I try to install FP again, those files missing that I moved over
are no longer there.

Unfortunately you can't just "move" cab files to the computer from another and expect the install
process to find them.
You need to do the full install from the CD, because as part of the install process Windows
determines the "install source" and then knows to access the files from "that source."
Additionally, during the install Windows creates and then deletes temporary files as it uncompresses
the cabinet files and writes their contents to the proper location on the hard drive.

You will need to make sure all of the updates are installed to the OS, and then run the FrontPage
install.

Then the install *must* be run from one common source such as the CD drive.

Steve , thank you.
As I did install all updates to my OS (just checked again) and did use the
FP 'typical' install from CD, and it could not find the cab files it needed,
do you think the XP install was not complete?
Would you suggest I install XP again? OR?

Dumb question.
Is the CD your using a "full install" CD or an "upgrade" CD??

Steve, it is the full CD.

This is what error states when it gets to the same spot:
"Waiting for cabinets to be cashed to local installation source
M4561403.CAB
That file is missing, is there anywhere I can get it?
