- Downloaded trial version of Microsoft Office,
- Forty day trial period came and went - Did not want,
- Cleanly removed same,
- Attempted to access both Word and Excel (Microsoft Office v. X)
- Question mark superimposed over each icon and could not access
either program,
- Reinstalled program,(treated as new owner)
- New product I.D. assigned,
- Attempted to register on-line,
- Message, "Unable to service your request".
- Contacted Microsoft - No support as of January 01 / 07.

What is the process to reinstall my original Microsoft Office v. X?

Hello George -

There's no need to Register or Activate Office on a Mac - it only gets you
on the MS mailing list if you do & that's what triggered the "Unable to
service..." message... X can no longer be registered because it has reached
End of Life.

The "big question" is simply whether you are able to run the software -
which you don't specifically mention:) If the Office apps will run OK there
is no problem to resolve. Just remember that after a reinstallation you'll
also need to apply the 10.1.9 update to Office X, which isavailable from:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/

If the programs won't launch or are behaving improperly we'll need to have
more detail on what happens when you attempt to launch, OS X version, type
of Mac, as well as any other specifics about the problems... and what you
mean by "Cleanly removed same" - Did you use the Remove Office utility?
