Reinstalling XP Office

I had to reinstall XP on a new HD because of damage. My
current HD has a working copy of XP and has all the
program files for Office (and several other
applications). My Office disk is an upgrade version.
When I try to reload Office, it apparently cannot find or
isn't looking for the files that are already there, so it
rejects the reload, even though I have the product key.
Any suggestions?

You need the program CD for the qualifying product you used to install the
upgrade, probably Office 97 or 2000.
