Rejecting time after it is approved

Is there a way for a project manager to reject time after
it has been approved and entered into the project plan?
So for example, if a resource has discovered that he/she
submitted time for the wrong time period, or submitted
time to the wrong plan is there a way to reject it so they
can submit it in the correct period or to the correct
plan? We are using open and closed time periods with
protected actuals.

Thanks!

Michelle: In Project Pro 2002, you can view "Task Usage". In the right hand
panel, you can select "Actual Hours". You can deit hours there, but you must
also republish the edited assignment and select "overwrite actual hours
entered by resources". I have no experience with Project Pro 2003.

Not a real expert but I suggest looking at the 'Adjust Actuals' in PWA
this allows you to change the values in the tasks for a give resoruce
and project. If you are you are using closed time periods you could
also look at re-opening the period to make an adjustment.

I agree, PWA Adjust Actuals is probably your best way to do this. If you
adjust under Project Professional, you cannot overwrite while Managed
Periods is turned on. You would have to turn it off, make your changes,
publish just those changes with the overwrite flag checked, then turn back
on managed periods. You will blow away any new changes that the user might
have made in the mean time.
Through PWA everything will stay intact but when you update Proj. Prof. will
probably ask you to re-synch. Which is OK at that time.
