Remaining work in Resource usage view.

Hi,
when looking at the 'remaining work' of a resource which is assigned to
more then one project, the number is different if all his projects are open
or not.
That is the way it should be? can't i know the remaining work of a resource
unless i open all his projects?

Thanks

Hello asuchi,

An assumption:. You are working with a resource pool file which is
providing resource to several project files. You are not using Project
Server.

When you open a project file, you should see a message asking if you
want to "...open the resource pool file to see assignments across all
sharer files."

If you select the option to open the pool, you should see remaining work
for all assignments for the resource, without opening the other project
files.

If you do not open the pool, you will only see assignment information
for the single project file you have opened.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hello Asuchi,

If you are using Project Server, please post your question to the
project server newsgroup (Microsoft.public.project.server). You may
also be able to find the answer by searching that newsgroup. You may
also find the answer on the Project Server experts website:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
