Really appreciate the help on this but think I should give you some more
background on this.
Was using Project 98 before and on the workgroup toolbar was the reminder
button, this could be set for a reminder before or after a determined date
and time. All was well. I set a reminder and it created a entry in my
tasks in Outlook.
Upgraded to Project 2000 (sorry I know I said 2002 before but got it wrong,
it was the rest of the office suite that went to 2002) and now the reminder
button is greyed out making it disabled.
I am on a network but am the only person using Project so it was great when
the tasks went to my own Outlook.
Been playing today and found the WGsetup that it said had to be used for
e-mail. Ran that but the button didn't become enabled. Installed Project
on another test machine and ran the WGsetup on that machine as well and yes,
projects can be assigned to another person and if they accept it puts a task
in their Outlook but as I said I am the only one using Project. Tried
assigning and mailing a project to myself but it didn't seem to e-mail.
Didn't even get the "Something is Accessing your Address Book message" from
Outlook that I got when mailing another user.
Installed and setup Project Central to see if that made any difference, can
publish projects to Project Central and view then with the Project Central
browser but the reminder button in Project 2000 is still disabled. Last
ditch, uninstalled Project 2000 re-installed Project 98 and the reminder
button is enabled again and works just fine.
I'm sure it's something really simple but it is bugging the life out of me
now.
