removing a blank feild in mail merge

In my document i have a feild called " name" if it is blank is there a way
that it will not say "name" on the document ????

You could make it a conditional field to control what happens when the field
is empty, but if the field is blank it will leave a space - not write
'name'.
e.g.

{IF {Mergefield Name} <> "" "{Mergefield Name} "}

Note the space before the closing quote. This space could equally be a
paragraph (press enter key).
