Removing (not uninstalling) Office Updates files?

Ant

Hi.

I know with Windows Updates, I can safely delete the updaters. Where are
Office Updates stored? I cannot seem to find them and I see them in
Add/Remove Programs list (Office 2000 Updates)?

Thank you in advance. :)

There is none to be removed

Oh, then why do I see Office Updates in my Add/Remove Program list?
Where are those stored?

Hi Ant,

The MS Office Service Packs and patches are cached (stored) by the Windows Installer so that they are automatically reapplied if you
change features or repair Office. It's generally not advised to remove the .MSP files that are stored.

Ah OK. Is there a way to remove/hide the Add/Remove Programs ones? I
have never uninstalled Office patches nor am I planning to (usually keep
the Windows hotfixes for a month before removing [not uninstalling] them).

"Ant colonies are remarkably similar to cities. No one choreographs the
action, not even the queen ant, but ant behavior is controlled by swarm
logic--put 10,000 dumb ants together, and they become smart. They will
calculate the shortest routes to food supplies sniffing out pheromone
signals from other ants and Johnson says people do the same thing in
cities using low-level interactions of people on the street." --Alex

Hi Ant,

To hide the updates in Windows XP Add/Remove programs uncheck the
[x] show updates box at the top of that dialog.
