Removing password protection

Is it possible to remove password protection from a FrontPage site if
the administrator password is unknown. When I go to
Tools/Server/Administration Home I'm prompted for a User Name and
Password, but I don't know what those are.

1) Is it possible to recover them.
2) Failing that, is there a workaround? I tried copying the files in
the password-protected folder(s) into a new folder, but it didn't
work, assumedly because many of the links are absolute links to files
in the original folder.

Any help with this vexing problem will be greatly appreciated.

What about the second part of my question - the workaround. Do I
simply trash what I have and rebuild in Dreamweaver? Is there a
simpler way to rebuild in FP? I inherited this problem and would like
to resolve it in as simple a manner as possible. Anybody else out
there been through the same?

Thanks,

If what you have is posted to a web site, you can download it from the
web site through the Import Web Site Wizard Template.

Hi Mary
I've followed your advice and downloaded the site, which I intend to
upload to a new server anyway. But I'm not clear on whether or not
doing that has removed the password protection. Any suggestions?
Thanks
