Removing Summary Tasks from Network Diagram

S

Steve Adams, PMP

I'd like to remove the clutter of summary tasks from the Network Diagrm. I
only want to see tasks as we do not add predecessors or sucessors to summary
tasks.

Any ideas. Thanks in advance! I already tried turning off Show Summary Tasks
in Tools, Options.

Hello Steve,
It's not possible to actually remove the summary tasks in the network, but
you can do the following:
Format / Layout / Layout mode : Manual
Then you drag the summaries in a page which will not be print.

Hope this helps,

Hi,

If you run P2202 or 2003 you can apply a filter to the Network Diagram
First create the filter
Project
Filtered for...
More Filters
New
Give a name (f;i. NonSummary)
Conditions are
Summary
equals
No
Check on Show in Menu
OK, OK, OK

Now in Network Diagram you can apply this filter.

An option may be under Tools/Options/View. At the bottom on that tad is an
option to not show summary task.

Hi Steve,

What version of Project are you using? In my Project Standard 2003, if I go
to the Network view, the Tools/Options... setting works as it should - no
summaries.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Yes, you are indeed correct. I must have fumbled fingered something. I tested
this and all works as needed. Thanks to all for being my second set of eyes.
