Removing TOC Fields

If you have a TOC that was automatically generated and then copy and
paste it into another document, it is still connected to the fields
from when it was automatically generated. Is there any way to break
the links to the fields without deleting the text, so that you just
have a plain list of text and when you click on the area it won't be
all shaded gray??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Cathy D. You can copy the TOC field from one document and paste it into
a second document, then select the TOC field in the second document and press
Ctrl+Shift+F9 to convert the TOC field to text.
