Replaying media clips automatically

If i go backwards to a previous slide during a show, can I get it to replay
the video clip automatically. I can get it to start automatically when going
forwards, but if I then go to the next slide and then try to come back, it
won't start up automatically. I have a specific purpose in mind why I need to
be able to do this, that doesn't involve having to click the mouse on the
clip the second time.
