Reporting on resource Calenders

I am involved in a project where we have a pool oin excess of 30 resources
if their availability is recorded in their individual resource calanders how
can I see global availability week by week over the summer.
today I have created a task called holiday and set up a task for each week
assigning resouces to that week - is there a better way

I'm not sure what you've done. I don't know how to assign a resource to
a "week", only to a task.

As for the holiday, just go into Tools, Options, Change Working Time
and make the holiday a non-working day in the Standard calendar by
clicking on the day and then appropriate selection.

Hope this helps in your world.

Hi Eric,

Here's the simplest solution
Create a project with aal the resources having their holidays but no tasks
attached
Resource Usage View
Format, Timescale, make sure the minor scale is Weeks
Right-clich in the right part of the view, select Remaining availability.

If you want to use tasks to represent holidays there is an article on my
experiences in the "Article on MSP" on my Website - URL below

Jan,
You must have seen something I didn't in the OP's message. Even so,
what is the point of seeing a totally blank Resource Usage View?

Hi folks I really appreciate your input
Maybe I should clarify
I have create 1 task for each week and then assigned the resources to that
task
in fact i have created a master plan with a subproject called holidays and
then using this as the resource pool

I can then look at a "week" (ie a task) and see who is allocated to that
week on the gant chart therefore no there or via resource useage

What I wnted was a report that ansers the question who is working this week,
who is on holiday but using the information from the standard calendar
see my other reply later...

thanks I will give that a try tomorrow - its a bit late to do it now I will
let you know
how I get on (as i said above I am using this as a sub project to act as a
global resource pool...

Hi Dave,

Remaining Availability is never blank, even without any task assigned

Sorry, I meant a Resource Usage View where the resources are totallly
available during all working hours. I already know that without a
diagram, if they haven't been assigned to anything.
