Sorry if this shows up as a duplicate but I didn't see where this posted to
the News Group.

I have a report with 8 fields with various widths. They are all set to the
same heigth of .375. The properties are set as follows; border width 1pt,
color 0, Can Grow - Yes.

When the report is generated some of the fields grow to .5 or greater. The
bad part is that the rest of the fields in that row do not grow. As a
result the report doesn't look very good. Is there a way to make the other
fields expand to the same size as the largest field in each row?

I am trying to make the report look the same as a formatted table such as in
a Word document.

The "Can Grow" field property enables the field to grow in size according to
the contents of the field. I often use this property in long text or comment
(memo) fields so that is contents of the particular field in a record are
shown if they exist but if there are no contents then space is not wasted on
the report. You need to experiment with this property to solve your issue.
