How do I change the grayed out resize autoshaor to fit text box a live option?

Hello,
Not sure if I understand the question correctly, but if the option to resize
the AutoShape to fit the text is greyed out, it is generally due to the fact
the object has been grouped with another object. Try ungrouping the object
and see if that helps.

Not really sure what you mean but maybe right click the shape and choose "add
text" (no need to add any!)
