I've self-published a 450 page manual but want to change the size of the
manuscript from 8 1/2 X 11 to pocket size......how can I do this without
having to manually change each page of the text.

The easiest way is to create an 8.5x11" PDF (either using Publisher
2007's Microsoft add-in or PrimoPDF with older versions), then use Adobe
Reader to scale the document down on printing.
