Hi Fred,

I take it you're talking about the Headers/Footers??? If so, do it via the
'File' menu, then "Page Setup". I did everything with the keyboard myself
and the macro worked fine. If I'm completely off, sorry!

Jason.

Actually, forget what I said about the headers and footers. I realised they
are two different things (mind you, I don't use them very often, haha).

Anyway, you insert you footnote as per normal, but if you want to resize the
footnote pane with your keyboard, you will have to use the 'Page Setup'
dialog via the File menu, and do it that way. You will need to adjust the
"Bottom" margin. (hint: use the TAB key to move from field to field).
Adjustments made to the bottom margin will in effect move the footnote
accordingly.

Jason.

Jason,

Thanks for the help, but I mean the footnote window. That is when you are in
Normal view and you add a footnote Word opens up a new window for the
footnotes, but it's only about a quarter of the page. I wanted to be able to
enlarge the window with a macro. If you have any suggections I'd appreciate
it.

Jason,

Forget my last post I see now you understood me well. I tried what you wrote
here I can't go to File/Page Setup when I am in the footnote window because
it's grayedout. I'm using Word XP.

Fred,

Sub Test()
ActiveWindow.SplitVertical = 50
End Sub

Splits 50-50. The larger the number the larger the main window.

Sorry Fred, the way the question was asked through me off. I see Greg came
up with a one-liner to do what you wanted. Even if you recorded a "macro"
and performed the action manually via the keyboard the way I previously
described it, you would have obtained the same results... just more code
though.. but I'm sure you could have reduced it down.
For amateurs like myself, I would not have known the code Greg came up with.
I would have learnt the hard way. =)

Jason,

There isn't a whole lot that separates amateurs like yourself and
amateurs like myself. The masters have lots to teach and we have lots
to learn ;-)
