Resolution Web/Screen

In PowerPoint when I try to compress an image to Web/Screen it goes back to
print resolution.

Hi Sherry
I just did a quick experiment - I inserted a very large image into
PowerPoint. Even though the image was very large (much bigger than the
slide) the resolution was still only 72dpi (the default resolution for most
digital cameras). So, when I applied the Compress Picture feature, and saved
the file, it made no difference to the file size.

However, when I scaled the image down to fit the slide, and then used
Compress Pictures, PowerPoint resampled the image and the file size dropped
dramatically.

The dialog box does not show the real resolution of the image. If you
selected web resolution, all images will be compressed to 72 dpi. But if you
start the compression again, the dialog defaults to 200 dpi, as it always
does. No cause to worry.
