Resource Allocation

If I have a task fixed work task of 8 hours, is it possible to have MS
Project set the work at .5 hours over 16 weeks? I have tried to set the work
and then modify task type (fixed work, fixed duration, fixed units), but have
been unsuccessful. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Johnnie,

I suggest:

Create the 16 week task
Split your screen from the Gantt Chart View (Window > Split) to show the
task form in the lower pane.
In the Task Form set the Task Type to Fixed Duration and click OK
Assign your resource and specify 8 hours of work in the Task Form.
Click OK to assign the resource. Project will calculate assignment
units of 1%.

I would then set the task type back to Fixed Units.
