Resource Capacity Report Against Assigned Projects

Dee

I have a Master Project Plan for my company with all company resources on the
resource sheet. I need a report that shows what percentage of total resource
capacity is assigned to specific, high-profile projects to send to our senior
management. For example, what percentage of overall capacity is assigned to
Project 1, Project 2, etc. The Master Project Plan is a rollup of project
plans provided by PMs and department managers (not a shared plan or shared
resource pool). So it's very high level. In Project 2007, I can pull a
Baseline Work Report that shows who is working on what projects and when, but
it shows individual hours, not % of capacity. And I need to be able to export
this to Excel and create charts. Any help is appreciated.

Hello Dee,

In the resource usage view, instead of the Work field, display the Percent
Allocation.
Right click a yellow cell, and select Detail Styles...

Hope this helps,

Thank you Gerard. I have already done as you suggested, and that gives me the
allocation by resource. Perhaps I wasn't very clear in my need.

I need to create a report that looks at the entire company resource
capacity, and shows me what percentage of capacity is allocated each Project.
An example:

Project X = 30% of resource capacity booked against this project
Project Y = 50% of resource capacity booked against this project

I hope that explains things a little better.

Sorry Dee, I misunderstood your question. I'm afraid that only the OLAP Cube
of Project Server can give you this information.

Bummer...

Can I at least get a percentage of headcount then instead of capacity?

Example: Project X = 30% of resources assigned
