Resource Groups

In my resource pool I have added another column called groups, and I have
assigned each resource into relevant group. What my manager would like to
see is allocation of a specific resource under a specific group, and to which
task these resources have been assigned. Is this something easy to do.

I suggest setting up a custom filter to filter for the resource group. You
can even set up a dynamic filter that prompts users to choose the group so
that you can use the same filter for multiple groups.

To do this:
Go to Project>Filters>More Filters then select New

-Enter a name for your filter
-Select show in menu
-Enter Group in the Field Name column
-Enter Equals in the Test column
-Enter "Which group:"? in the Value(s) column
NOTE: enter the text in the Value (s) column with the punctuation I have
noted, this tells Project to prompt you for to select a value each time you
run the filter
-Click OK
-Go to Project>Filter and select your filter to test. If the More Filters
window is still open, you can select Apply.

Go to the Resource Usage view and run your filter to see your data.

You can even set up a custom view to show the Resource Usage view with the
filter applied.
