Resource pool changes schedule

I have project 2003 and another user in our group has 2002. We use shared
resource pools for our project schedules.

She created a schedule and was instructed "not to open other files, you
could corrupt them" referring to the resource file, prior to my arriving
here.

My quick question is this:

Why would the scheduled dates change when the resource pool is opened when
viewing the schedule? If she does not open the resource pool, different
dates appear that are earlier than those shown when the resource pool is
opened. We are using duration based scheduling and there are no constraints
or task calendars associated with the tasks that change.

Also, how can I tell which resource pool she pointed the schedule to? She
must have a copy, but I can't see the full directory specification and we
name all of our resource pools the same name.

Thank you in advance for any pointers.

Well, I figured this out!

It appears my friend has a local calendar stored within the .mpp file that
contains holidays, so her dates would have to be different than mine.

Just so you know, I believe you can link to the resource pool without opening
it. So the other person can use that pool and not have to open it as he/she
was instructed not to do.
