I am hoping that someone can give me direction regarding resource pools. I just upgraded to Project 2003 I have a two-fold issue
1. I have one resource pool file (with about 12 projects that share the resources); When I originally set the projects up, I put all resources in the resource pool file & then placed them in the individual project files. I open the resource pool first in the morning & then sometimes have 5 or 6 of the projects open at the same time. When I make changes to resources, I make the changes in the resource pool file & then attempt to save it, I get an error message that says the following
"The file cannot be opened. Check that the filename and pather are correct [which they are; I just pressed save]; Check that the file format is recognized by Project [which it is, it's a Project file]; Project Files saved in a version earlier... ... [which it's not, it was created in 2003
2. So, what I do is save it as a different name (like ResourcePool4 [what I'm up to now]) and then I re-link all the existing projects to it again by going into tools, resource sharing, share resources, etc. The only problem is I have duplicates upon duplicates upon duplicates of resources.
What am I doing wrong? Is it a glitch why the file doesn't want to save? Have any of you encountered this before? The be honest with you, this is the first time that I have used resource sharing so I'm new to all this and would appreciate any assistance you can give
Thanks so much in advance
