Resource Report

Is there a quick and easy way to find or create a report in MS project that
shows the staff members name (my resources), their tasks, and percent
complete. I need to generate this report on a monthy basis for my manager.
TIA!

Two ways:
1) Select View, Resource usage
2) Select Window, Split
In the top pane select View, Resource Sheet
In the lower pane select View, Gantt Chart

Now when you click on a resource in the top pane, the lower pane only shows
tasks for the selected resource(s).

What I need is not just to view it but a report.
I need something like this:
Mary
Task 1- 35% complete
Task 2-45% complete
Joe
Task 1- 35% Complete
Task 4- 90% complete
Task 6- 10% complete

Is there a report that generates this type of info?
Again, TIA!

Hi Jenn,

It sounds like to are looking for the left side of the Resource Usage view.
Display the resource usage view and drag the right side as far right as you
can to hide it.

Insert the % Work Complete field into the table on the left and print the
view.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Yes you are right. That view is what I am looking for but can I make a custom
report to display that?

Hi Jenn,

I'm afraid not easily. The Usage view type reports are Crosstab reports
and have very limited customization. Is there a reason why printing the
view with the additional field (% Work Complete) won't work?

I think they just wanted a pretty header like the reports have. Its not a
big deal since this seems like it would require a lot of MS project. I just
knew you all would knpw if it was easy or hard. Thanks for the help. I
will just have to live with the printed view you suggested. have a great day
and thanks for the timely help!

Hi Jenn,

You are most welcome and thanks for the feedback.

You can add header information (File > Page Setup) to the view to get close
to what a printed report would look like if that helps. :)

Have a great day and please do post again if you have any further questions.
