Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out exactly how the resource substitution wizard works.
I've used it several times with mixed results. Here are the questions I have.
1. How does it choose which resource to substitute? It replaces my generic
resources with a person that has the proper skills, but how does it pick
which person with the required skillset? Does it pick the person that is
available for most of the tasks or does it choose the person with the most
available time over the course of the entire project? Or does it just pick
the first person in the alphabet with that skill? Also, does it try to
schedule the same person for the entire project?
2. Does it overallocate resources? Most of the time it doesn't appear to,
but I've run into issues where it schedules the entire day for a person when
that person has time scheduled in another project.
