resource views/printing limits

Hello,

I'm using MS Project 2003 Standard and am running into problems showing all
the resources assigned to a task on the gantt view. I have a few tasks that
have around 20 people assigned to them and only 14 are showing up in the
"resource names" column. I tried saving it into Excel but it just brought
over the same limitation. I simply want to show what resources are assigned
to each resource in a gantt view. Any help is appreciated.

All columns in Project are limited to displaying (and exporting) 256
characters. If you have assigned resources so that there are more than 256
characters in the Resource Names field it will only display the first 256
characters. Unfortunately, there is no way around this. You might try
displaying the Resource Initials column instead or using another view such
as the Task Usage view.

Hi Mikejw,

As you have discovered, the display of the [Resource Names] field is limited
to 256 characters. Not knowing how you created the list of resources, I can
only offer the suggestion of adding the [Resource Initials] field to the
table as an alternative. You may need to edit the resource initials in the
resource sheet to make them more meaningful (Project by default only picks
up the first letter of the first word you enter).

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

You're welcome Mike and thanks for the feedback. It appears as though Jim
Spiller "beat me to the keyboard".
