% Complete vs Actual Work

Ok...I have a task that is 240 hours 41.16 days that is 95% complete....I
have two resources assigned to this task. I want them not to have a unit %
assigned to them...but everytime I get the hours and days adjusted the way I
want them it automatically makes the resource units for each resource to be
60%. Is there a way to not assign unit % to the resources?

Thank you!

No. Units is locked into a formula that connects Work, Duration and Units
together. They cannot be separated.

you are getting 60 percent because the number of hours of remaining work
on the task spread over the remaining duration equals 60% of the calendar
working time for those resources.

A simple walk through might help. Create a task. Insert the Work column
into the view. Give the task 5 days duration and 20 hours work. Now open
the Assign Resources dialog (Tools | Assign Resources). Assign a resource
by selecting it and just hitting the Assign button. It will assign that
resource at 50% because 20 hours of work spread over 5 days (40 working
hours) equals 50% (or half time).

Now repeat this but enter 10 days duration instead of 5. When you assign
the resource it will be assigned at 25% because 20 hours of work spread
over 80 working hours (10 days) is quarter time.

Does that help?
