Resources confusion

I allways have trouble with this and am hoping someone can help me.

if i have resource A and i schedule them to work 6 hrs a day on a project
that lasts 1 weeks. On the LAST day of the project my resource only needs
to work 4 hours i.e. my total work estimate was 20 hours. Does anyone know
how i can make it so that on the last day of the project, they are working
only 4 hrs.


i.e. from resource usage
1 2 3 4 5
resource A 6 6 6 6 6

i want it to be
1 2 3 4 5
resource A 6 6 6 6 4

I don't want it to be
1 2 3 4 5
resource A 5.2 5.2 5.2 5.2 5.2

Well, you sort of answered your own question...

You need to type it in yourself on the Reosurce Usage page.

However, for 20 hours, "Work" is more like 6,6,6,2.

If you also right-click on the right panel on Resource Usage,
you can check off "Actual Work" so you can record the actual
work done by the resource.

Hi Jojo

From your information the total time shown is 28 hours 6, 6, 6, 6, 4 not 20.

You would need to create a calendar for that resource setting the resources
hours, this would then properly allocate the time.

Obviously your project is showing as 1 week and the base calandar will have
been set for the working hours, individual resource times can be set by
creating their own calander, thereby properly allocating the time across the
project without affecting the project timings.
