Restrict Editing

I have created a word document that has fields that can be filled in by the
user.
I also have other text in the document that I do not want the user to
change/delete etc.
Is there I way I can protect these areas of text?

If you protect the document as a form, only the form fields can be edited --
everything else is locked.
