Retain formatting when I copy and paste in PowerPoint

This never used to happen...

I used to be able to copy and paste, and it did't change any formatting.

I have two text boxes, both formatted to Arial 14, I happen to want to copy
the text from Box A into Box B. So I click in box A, control-A(to select all)
and then hit control-c. I then click in Box B, control-A (to select all), and
then hit control-p.

The newly pasted text is now at Arial 20. I have to hit paste-special, and
select formatted text... any ideas how to avoid this extra step?

Much obliged.

When you paste the object, an icon is displayed. Click on it and it gives you
choices. One of the choices is "Keep source formatting".

I am doing this all via keyboard shortcuts, and I see no icon displayed.

I just found under tools: options: Edit: cut and paste.
I turned on the show paste options.
I tried it again, and now it worked!

Will this remain now my default option?
*whew* I've been do distraught for the last 2-3 months with this problem!

It will remain set until you forget why you set it that way and uncheck it
again. <G> I'm pretty sure that it is the default when you install PowerPoint.
