Revenue formula

Hello.
As a consultant, I want to use Project to follow my
project but also to keep my client up to date on what is
going on with the project. The idea is as if I'd have two
views of the same project, one internal and another one
for the client, and see how much I am profiting by
comparing my costs to my revenues.
To see how much I am spending with the project, I use
the 'cost' column, where the value of the hours I pay my
resources is used. But I also need to see what I call
revenue, which is the result of the numbers of resource
hours I sold * the value of the hour charged for each
resource .
The problem is when I try to customize the field, I am not
allowed to 'mix' one task field with one resource field,
so I cannot reach the result I want. Is there a wAy to do
that ? Should I be using a particular table or view ?
Thanks a lot !!

Hi Cynthia,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Project is a scheduling tool and is not very good with revenue handling. I
recommend you export the data from Project to Excel and manipulate the
figures from there.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)
