Reverse Engineering problem

D

Dear Expert

When I try to reverse engineer a Access 97 database on an
windows 2000 workstation using visio 2003, I get a message
while trying reverse engineer.

The message says:
Error! Cannot extract column definition for the
table/view. There are workgroup permissions set-up, and I
am admin in the database. I can access the database with
no problem in Access 97, but when I try to reverse
engineer the same database, I get this issue.

Dear Expert,
Please Help!

It is difficult to give you help without actually having the database you
are trying to reverse engineer. A few suggestions:

1. Try removing multi-user feature from the database before RE
2. If you have access to Access 2000, try porting the database to it
(generally opening the MDB in Access 2000 and saving as something else will
do it) and RE from Access 2000.
3. Try a small subset of the database to isolate what particualr table may
be causing the problem. That way we may be able to help better.
