Rolling-up a Gantt Chart with Customized Bars

E

Elle

I've customized bars for multiple sub-tasks and would like to see these
customizations when I roll them up to the summary bar. Currently when I roll
up the sub-tasks, I lose the customizations. Is it possible to roll up and
show the customizations?

For example, I have a task that I've customized with a Flag field to color
code a specific task (to show the task bar as teal). When I roll this up to
the summary, it defaults back to the regular blue color.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi,

You need to create an extra customisation for the rolled up version.

Hi,

Define the bars you want to see as Normal, Rolled Up, not summary, Flag7 (or
any)

Jan,
I have exactly the same problem, but I don't understand your answer. The
only bar definition tools I am aware of are on the General tab of the Task
Information dialogue box (ie "Hide task bar" and "Roll up gantt bar to
summary"). What settings should these be for the sub tasks and the summary?
And are there any other settings to change?
If you can help crack this one, I won't need to go to Powerproject.
thanks in advance,

Peter Hindby Smith.

Peter,
The bar definition window Jan referred to is found under,
Format/Barstyles. For more information, check the help file associated
with the Bar Styles window.

You may also want to go to the MVP website at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and check out FAQ 31 - Customizing Task bars. Although it relates to
Project 2000, it is also applicable to later versions.

You can also do a search on this newsgroup. Several questions have been
asked and answered with regard to setting up customized Summary line
Gantt bars.

Hope this helps.
