Room Length & Width

I'm using the "Room" shape to layout a room. I set the dimensions for the
length and width of the room. When I click on the room shape, the dimensions
are visible. When I click off of the shape, they disappear. Why is that? I
want the dimensions to show. How can I do this?
Thanks in advance, Karen

select the shape
menu Window -> Show Shapesheet
in the section User-defined cells

Thank you so much for your help. I have one wall that has a door. How can I
set the dimension from the wall to the right and left edge of the door and
then display the width of the door?
Thank you, Karen

Exactly the same procedure to show the door dimension, use a
Controller Dimension shape for the distance from wall to door.

Now that I read my message again, I didn't describe it the right way. I
actually figured it out. Thank you!
Regarding your answer: set cell User.visBESelected to GUARD(1)
Where do you ever learn something like this? I wouldn't even know these
properties existed.
Thank again, Karen

No, maybe you'll better remember googling for "visio solutions".
It means going back in time seven years.

Nor did I until I looked! That's how I found out, I dropped the shape
on the page, opened the shapesheet and had a look at the shape's
properties.
