Routing Word Document

I received a routed Word document in email as an
attachment. I made changes to document and saved. While
saving, was prompted to route to next recipient. I
selected Yes. Nothing happens and eventually title bar
shows Word Not Responding. I am using Word 2002 in
Windows XP.
