Row Selection Too Fast

Nickinsyd

Hi,
I am having an issue when selecting multiple rows or Columns. when
selecting past the edge of the window, the selection goes way to fast
and then when trying to go up it continues going down for a while
before retreating., basically the curser becomes very unresponsive and
laggs behind. Sometimes there is no way to stop it scroling up and down
unitl it finishes all comands, This happens with new spreadsheets as
well as ones with lots of data. Any suggestions please. NIckinsyd.

Hi Nickinsyd,

If you select the first cell in your range, then use the scroll bars to move
around, you may get more control. You can then hold down the Shift key and
click on the last cell to complete the range selection.

Alternatively, if you select the first cell in your range, then hold down
the Shift key and use the arrow keys to navigate, this will scroll much more
slowly than using the mouse.

Cheers

The Shift-Click technique suggested by macropod is one of the most effective
for that situation, but here are a couple of others:

If the data is consecutive columns & rows (B1:G500, for example), start on
cell B1, then key Shift+Command+$B"*(B followed by Shift+Command+$B"-(B

If you know the references, click in the Name Box, type B1:G500, press
Return

And, if you need to select the range frequently you might want to consider
giving it a Name... Take a look at Named Ranges in Excel Help.
