Rule "clear categories on mail (recommended) ..."?

A rule has appeared in my Outlook called "clear categories on mail
(recommended) (client only)". I don't know what it does. I can't delete it.
Can anyone fill in these gaps in my knowledge? Thanks.

It clears categories on e-mails you receive. If you don't want that, you
might deactivate the rule.

Thank you Michael.

I was curious because the rule appeared without any interaction from me. And
it cannot be edited or deleted. I was able to deactivate it only after I had
deleted all of the other rules, but deletion of this mysterious rule was
still not possible.

Does this make sense?

OL07 comes with that rule by default.

We're using OL03. I have now determined that the rule came from a server
upgrade. The "/cleanrules" switch enabled me to delete it.
