ruler tick marks

Jason

Recently i reinstalled my Microsoft Word. Once I ran it
though, I realized that the rulers on the side and the
top were all in cm. I changed the settings back to
inches, but the cm tick marks are still there. Does
anyone know how to fix this?

More likely, they are character units. See the following page of fellow MVP

Close, but no cigar.

I use cm as by default settings in Word2003 SP1. I have
set this in the control panel and all my page sizes,
paragraph indentations and tab stops are now in cm. great.

However, when I drag the ruler's "Left Indent" marker
(the little square under the hanging indent marker) it
snaps to the ruler at a position 1.27cm from the edge. I
know this is exactly a half inch. I have set the default
tab stop to be 1.5cm and would like the left indent
marker to snap to here. I know you can hold down ALT and
set it marker to twl decimal places, but why can't I get
the same in cm that inch users are being offered.

Have you tried adjusting the grid interval? Draw | Grid on the Drawing
toolbar.

Wear your MVP with pride Suzanne!

That's exactly what did it.

(Now if only Word did that automatically when I set it to
cm :) )
