run time error - locks up and lose all information

I need some help to know what to do when I get the
error "runtime error"

On the top it says "Visual C++ runtime error"

gives my path and then at the bottom it says

"abnormal program termination"

and closes. It has done this as I've typed and lost
everything I've done. I have tried reinstalling Word and
it still comes up. I have Office XP Small Business.

Please help.
