running video over powerpoint

Dale

Is there any way to run a live video in a small portion of the screen
while a powerpoint presentation runs in the background? I've done a
number of presentations but have no idea if it's possible to combine
live video simultaneously. Any info would be appreciated.

Hi Dale,

PowerPoint supports Apple QuickTime. Whatever you can do in QuickTime you
can do in PowerPoint. So if you have streaming QuickTime content you can use
the Movie toolbar (View > Toolbars > Movie) to insert your content into the
presentation.

That's easy to fix. Place the live video on the slide on which you want it
to begin playing. Control-click the video object, and from the contextual
menu, choose "Custom Animation". Check the option to "Play using animation
order", choose to "Continue slide show" while playing, and tell it to cease
after however many slides you want it to play. If you want it to keep
playing until the the end of the presentation, instruct PowerPoint to stop
playing the video "After 999 slides". Then, click OK, and you should be
set.
